Need an energy test before final inspection?

Some new residential projects require building-envelope or duct-system testing before final approval. We help you complete the test, understand the result, and identify the next step if corrections are needed.

01

Blower Door Testing

Measures how much air moves through the home’s exterior shell under controlled pressure.

02

Duct Leakage Testing

Checks how much conditioned air may escape from the HVAC duct system.

03

Clear Test Results

Get understandable results and organized documentation to help keep the project moving.

A straightforward process

Testing shouldn’t slow down your build.

Testing services

The right test for the project.

For new construction, energy-code documentation, HVAC verification, or targeted leakage diagnosis.

01

Residential Blower Door Testing

Measures overall building-envelope air leakage at a standardized pressure difference.

02

Duct Leakage Testing

Measures leakage from the HVAC duct system to support verification and closeout.

03

Diagnostic Testing & Retesting

Practical support when a project does not initially pass and needs correction followed by verification.

Repeat-project ready

Built for builders, HVAC contractors & new construction.

You shouldn’t have to become a building-science expert just to close out a house. The testing process should be clear, responsive, and easy to coordinate.

Frequently asked questions

Building science, in plain English.

What is a blower door test?

A blower door test uses a calibrated fan installed in an exterior doorway to create a controlled pressure difference. The equipment measures the airflow needed to hold that pressure, which shows how airtight or leaky the building envelope is.

What does ACH50 mean?

ACH50 means air changes per hour at a pressure difference of 50 Pascals. It expresses how many times the home’s indoor air volume would be replaced in one hour under the standardized test condition.

What happens if the house doesn’t pass?

A failed result is information, not the end of the project. We can help clarify the result, support leakage diagnosis, and return for verification after corrections are completed.

When should I schedule testing?

Schedule when the building envelope is complete and the home can be prepared for testing, but early enough that there is still time to correct problems before the relevant inspection or project deadline.

Do you perform duct leakage testing?

Yes. Duct leakage testing measures air escaping from the HVAC duct system. Tell us the project stage and what documentation has been requested so we can confirm the appropriate test.
